Return to Vicente Guerrero

...There. The alarm is set for 3:00AM. Two fully packed (and somewhat weighty) suitcases are parked, zippered shut, on the floor beside us. The only sounds in the room are the rustle of pages from the missionary biography Lana's reading, and the clacking of my laptop's keys as I type. Technically we should be sleeping now--after all, we're getting up again to drive to the airport in only a matter of hours. Let me explain...

You may recall that at the very end of our trip to Mexico last year (click here if you'd like to access an overview of that experience) that during the return flight we volunteered to get rerouted to Vancouver for the night. The incentive? Extended adventure, yes, and also free travel vouchers.

Wow, Lord, I thought as we thus waited to board a completely different plane from the one we'd originally planned to, looks like You're paying for the NEXT mission trip already! And so He has. It's been a year since then. --A very full and exciting one at that! And now Lana and I, along with another friend named Elisia, are about to return to that very same place. Same orphanage in Mexico. Same white YWAM van. Even some of the same team members we met last time are coming!

Because there is no internet at the mission, I likely won't be able to post any updates I write until the end of the week. Along the way as you read them, you may find contributions from other team members sharing answers to questions about their experience/ministry highlights. Meanwhile, thank you in advance for your prayers throughout the week. We certainly appreciate your support. And thank You God, for faithfully leading us even back to Mexico. To the place where I first set eyes on the global harvest field, half a lifetime ago.
